Lekala Sewing Pattern #4029 – Side Drape Dress

Hello chums,

I made another dress using a Lekala pattern before my holiday to take with me. Lekala 4029 is a a side drape dress with a cowl neckline and simple design lines. It caught my eye because I had been looking for a simple cowl neck dress to make with some of my Spoolette fabrics. The fabric was bought from Fabworks in Dewsbury.  Its such a wonderfully rich colour I do wish I had got enough of it to make a wrap dress.

As with my other Lekala makes (Dress and Blouse) ,I did not make a muslin. Continue reading

How do you follow your favourite blogs…..??

Hello everyone,

A quick post here mulling over how to follow blogs. Having just got back from a lengthy holiday in which I was forcibly unplugged from the interwebs due to a broken phone; I find that I have returned and have a lot of catching up to do with the blogs I follow.

If you are like me, and you have lots of blogs to read, but don’t always remember to go there, don’t have the right time to get online but fish around other spots and then you realize it’s been a month or more since you’ve been to your favourite spot on the web.  I have a problem because I really like blogs on many different blogging platforms. I also have a problem because my main platform for reading blogs is Feedly which conveniently has an app as well. I have noticed that most blogs dont have the Feedly button though which would make things much easier but I have to remember to manually add the name of the blog to my list. I like Feedly because it has the option to arrange in folders and subfolders. So e.g. I have  Sewing folder and within that is Kids sewing for blogs that principally produce that sort of content. Lekala Sewing Pattern #4456 – Blouse With Short Sleeves

After my success with my first Lekala make last year – a dress for Indie Pattern Month New to Me week I have since bought more patterns. Loads more :-). What can I say I love a bargain! They really do have many lovely designs that are so reasonably priced.

<Indie Pattern Month is run by The Monthly Stitch in which they have great challenges that any one of any sewing level can join in>

Lekala 4456 is a short sleeved blouse. The line drawing is what sold me on the pattern.

Let me start of by saying that I did not make a muslin. I cut straight into my fabric with out any alterations. Its not a bad fit in my opinion.

Burda Style Top 6849

Hello chums.

I am back after an epic 3 week family holiday – I then needed a holiday to recover from being the operations manager of said holiday :-). After a few days of R&R I walked into my sewing cave and was disgusted by the mess – I have since been busily beavering away when I can to organise it. Promise I will post as soon as I am done. Anyhow I hope you all had a lovely Easter holiday too.

Tonight I am excited to share this shirt. News FLASH – I actually made a shirt that is not a Granville! Its Burda 6849 which I finished before the holiday. Made in cotton lawn thats like Liberty but I am not 100% certain.
