Sewaholic Renfrew Pt. 3

Hello everyone,

Another day another Renfrew top. This one a simple scoop neck version. Fabric is from Fabsworks in Dewsbury. I squeezed this out of leftovers from making a Lady Skater dress (post coming soon).

I love it! Now if only I could find a solid colour fabric in my stash. It turns out that I am not a fan of solid colours so much. My only issue with this is that I cut the cuffs on the wrong grain so they don’t stretch as much as I’d like. As a person who rolls up her sleeves a lot, this is a tad annoying.

I really cant stop gushing over how much I love these tops (see my love letter here and here) . But I shallΒ spare you and just move on to the pictures :-).

Love the blues and purples on this fabric – my fave colours together.

I quite like that neckline.

So far I have made the cowl neck and this scoop neck. I guess next in line is the V neck version.

Thank you for stopping by and until next time

Happy Sewing!

  1. Nice top! When it’s about a complicated dress (rayon, silk – some slippery beast :P), I choose patterned fabrics – you know, just in case to . But when it’s easier – means I don’t have to hide the stitching lines – I choose solid fabrics πŸ™‚ But it depends on the garment type – if its very simple I’d better choose patterned one, if the construction itself is complicated, I stick with solid!

      1. Thanks!! πŸ™‚ This year I finally took some serious steps in clothes’ sewing after I spent more than half year only with lingerie. There is so much to learn and so much to make!! πŸ™‚ Your blog is an inspiration.

  2. The fabric is gorgeous and I can imagine it has made a stunning Lady Skater. Sore point actually as I have a Lady Skater split up one side seam hanging up in my workroom at the moment – yes! I’m having to undo overlocker stitches
:(. I can’t tell you how many of these dresses I’ve made before but this one is fighting back.
