Hello again,
Let me start by saying that this is my last Hollyburn for a while (I promise 🙂). As the seventh one it doesnt need a lot of ceremony so here it is in linen…..

Again I am more than pleased with this skirt and I still have an appetite for another Hollyburn…….
Thank you for stopping by and until next time Happy Sewing 🙂
Peace and love,
Hila
Alterations to pattern: changed from straight waistband to a contoured waistband using tutorial from A Fashionable Stitch (I did this alteration on my third Holyburn and haven’t looked back since).

October 18, 2016 3:52 amIt’s LOVE! Eyelet love! Really… I have a pair of blue & white eyelet shorts. Love them. Eyelet love… PERFECT skirt!
Now. Let’s get REAL! What is lurking in your closet? I can not even imagine what is in your closet. The depth, the enormity…!!! Is there a ROOM in your home devoted to your clothes? (Wait, ask Mr SNS!) Pics please? He he…

October 23, 2016 8:12 pmLols! My closet is not that big at all . I didnt have that many clothes really when I started sewing – I was a serial outfit repeater so its like I am building it up now 🙂 But I will definitely do a post on my closet soon. x

October 18, 2016 11:15 amI love the drape that linen gives this skirt. I made one in wool and it’s too bell shaped. You’ve inspired me to try again in a fabric with a softer hand. Beautiful!

October 23, 2016 8:10 pmThanks Becky. I am glad its inspired you to give it another go – its a great pattern 🙂

October 18, 2016 2:20 pmGorgeous! I love the fabric. It’s the perfect length and fit for you. Now you’ve got me thinking I need to add more red to my wardrobe. 🙂
Hila
October 23, 2016 8:09 pmOh yes more red indeed!

October 19, 2016 6:36 amIt’s a lovely skirt, perfectly finished!
I’d love to have a TNT pattern, I imagine it would be so easy to make something knowing it fits!
I love your top, did you make that too?
Hila
October 23, 2016 8:05 pmThanks Hilde. Yes I made the too – its Butterick B5848 – a shell top. Simple design but works very well with a statement fabric.

October 20, 2016 4:40 pmI keep thinking I need to try the Hollyburn. So many sewists love it. Did you lengthen it on any of your versions? I ask because I have had a bad experience with trying to lengthen full skirts. I think I’d rather find a midi-length pattern than try another lengthening.
Hila
October 20, 2016 5:20 pmIts a great pattern indeed and you should absolutely go for it! It has 3 lengths – this red one is the shortest length. My recent denim one is the mid length. I have never made the longest version which I think hit just past the mid calf point. If those arent the lengths you are after there is a lengthen/shorten line you can use. X

October 21, 2016 3:00 pmYou are the Hollyburn Queen! I’m feeling cold looking at you outside though! Autumns definitely upon us now! 🙂
Hila
October 23, 2016 7:46 pmThanks! I like the idea of being a Queen of some sort so I’ll take that 🙂

November 17, 2016 12:52 amAbsolutely gorgeous! I don’t know why my Hollyburn pattern is still untouched in the envelope. I must rectify that soon.
Hila
November 20, 2016 5:57 pmOh gosh you must rectify that Teri! Hollyburn plus boots is the ultimate combination!
