Fabric Giveaway and my first ever Minerva Craft Blogger Network make

Hello chums,

I have joined the Minerva Craft Blogger Network and my first project just went live on their site <link here> I made a dress using some gorgeous Art Gallery denim fabric called Ditsy Abrasion. I LOVED sewing with the fabric so much.1312853854image205

Minerva were happy to sponsor a giveaway here. They will donate a beautiful selection of dressmaking fabrics (handpicked by Vicki). Having won one of their fabric bundles during IPM2016 I can vouch that you are in for a treat.

The fabric bundle will be sent directly to the winner from Minerva Crafts. And get this – its WORLDWIDE! Yes, you read correctly – Minerva will post it anywhere in the world.

So in order to be in with a chance of winning a £50 bundle of dressmaking fabrics, here is what you have to do: Its easy really just hop over to this link <Ditsy Abrasion> and look around the site (hopefully after you read my post 🙂 )and come back to comment on what fabric you’d love to get from Minerva Crafts. *****Please note the fabric bundle will be selected by Vicki – there is no guarantee that should you win you will get exactly what you wrote in the comment*****

Because it Christmas and we are all very busy, you have until midnight(GMT)  December 31 to leave a comment. I will do the draw on New Years Day and one lucky person will be getting a fabulous £50 fabric bundle in the New Year. Yip! Yip!

Merry Christmas all!

Peace and love,

  1. Hi! I’m a newbie dressmaker – as in I have cut my first fabric from a pattern today! It took me ages to have the courage to cut – I don’t know why! Anyway I have fallen in lurve with ‘Art Gallery Fabrics The Denim Studio Collection Painterly Wash Chambray Denim Fabric Blue’. I think I would sit and look and stroke it for a year though!🤔
Love your dress and so looking forward to to having your talent x

  2. I’m supposed to pick just one? Oy.

I think I’d try the spot print chambray. I have yet to work up the bravery to try to make something I could actually wear (you know, beyond scarves), and this material looks like it would be lovely to work with.

  3. I love that dress, it’s a really lovely structured fabric and it suits the pattern a-may-zingly.
And Minerva crafts is so tempting. I really love jersey at the moment, the art gallery Buck forest jersey in twilight is gorgeous. So is the turquoise adventure springs. But being realistic I would LOVE to make a sweatshirt out of the glitter stars soft sweatshirt material with the pink stars on grey. I can really see that with raglan sleeves.

  4. As always you have done a beautiful job. I want to make some knit dresses. I fell in love with these Art Gallery Fabrics Painting Morale Stretch Jersey Knit Dress Fabric
Art Gallery Fabrics Serape Fervor Stretch Jersey Knit Dress Fabric
Art Gallery Fabrics Temple of Allanque Stretch Jersey Knit Dress Fabric
I think I’d make a Colette wren and or a moneta. I might even push the boat out and spring for a cashmerette turner to make the most of the fabric.

  6. Congrats on your first Minerva post Hila! I couldn’t think of a better and more creative blogger to demonstrate their fabrics. I’ve been eyeing up the Royal Blue and Gold Spotty Viscose Challis for months now 🙂 PS love your navy shoes!!! Happy Christmas to you and your family x

  7. The dress is lovely on you, I have looked at the fabrics on Minerva and I just love the denims, especially the ones with daisies on. I feel happy looking at daisies!

  8. Thanks for the opportunity to win! I liked the Timeless Treasures Crayons Poplin Quilting Fabric. I have a grand baby on the way, and that, and coordinating fabric would make a great “I Spy” quilt!

  10. Amazing dress. I’d get a couple of metres of Art Gallery Fabrics The Denim Studio Collection Solid Textured Denim Fabric Canyon Sunset for a Cleo dungaree dress and some navy jersey to make a top to go underneath it.

  11. Congratulations on being a Minerva blogger. Love the dress (but then I love everything you make!). My choice would be the geometric print stretch cotton needlecord in the pink turquoise and navy colour way to make a Tilly Cleo, Marilla Walker pinafore or Sew Now’s Zoe tunic 😊

  12. Your dress is fabulous, I have been admiring that pattern for a while, I think I will bite the bullet abd buy it now, I love the cut and how it turned out in the beauiful fabric you choose. I would love some denim to make another Cloe pinafore.

  13. Firstly, congratulations on becoming a Minerva Crafts blogger Hila – they’ve made a good choice! 😉 Love the dress and love the shoes possibly even more. I have browsed through the fabric selection and particularly like the ‘Stitched-Ochi’ from the Denim Studio Collection which has a sort of arts and crafts look to it and I’m looking for quality chambray at the moment to make a Rosa dress.

  14. Looking forward to reading the Minerva blog posts. Thanks for the opportunity to win some fabric from them. I’ve got my eye on the Italian chevron knit fabric, it reminds me of Missoni and at £29.99 a metre it would be real treat to win it!

  15. Great looking dress Hila! I’d use the Cleo pattern I got for Christmas and go for some corduroy and maybe match it with an Agnes made from some of the crickets jersey!!

  16. Hi, the dress on the picture is LOVELY and I haven’t finished looking at your page in detail but I’m enthusiastic about it. I’ve just begun my blogging experience, I’m creating wooden jewels and I’m about to launch a monthly crafts exchange: the point would be, I put monthly a wooden jewel on display, and people handy at sewing, knitting and home decor are welcome to offer me something in return. Please come and get a look, and maybe follow my page: for the moment I’m simply referencing old creations, but I shall in a few day show my first jewel out for exchange. As an indication of the time/value, one jewel takes me about two days to make. Come and have a look? http://www.charlottesjostrand.com
