Updated 1/5/2021 This is another Burdastyle dress I made especially for a holiday to the seaside. Its Burda 5/2016 #115 – the dress sewing pattern. I have sewed the pattern before in a winter ponte version here.

Burdastyle 5/2016 115 Review

The instructions were quite good – though this is a very simply constructed dress made up of 2 pieces (front and back) and a neckband. You just have to finish the arm flaps before draping them over each other and securing them with the neckband.

Burda 5/2016 #115 Sewing Pattern Review – The second version I sewed in drapey viscose.

I used a viscose jersey – very drapey and perfect for my purposes. I wanted something akin to a beach cover-up. Easy to pop on and off. It did the job admirably!

I definitely see more capelet dresses in the future. Its so quick and fast to sew up too. I hope you enjoyed this Burda 5/2016 #115 sewing pattern review! Check out my other Burda sewing project!
