Its a lovely sunny bank holiday Monday as I write this up. Its been a long day and I feel so tired. My day started very early at 6am with an 11km bike ride along the canal. It was my first time on the canal, I loved every minute of it. As soon as I got back home, I had breakfast, packed lunches and herded my little people to the allotment.

The allotment was backbreaking work with a plenty of terraforming. Still, its a satisfying kind of labour. We lasted till 1:30pm when it got too hot to keep going. Back home it was work on the garden, repotting seedlings, weeding flower beds etc. And I still had to go for a swimming session later on in the evening.

Which brings to me to the point of this post. You see, I decided to enter a triathlon on a whim. As a result, my life now involves running, cycling and swimming training almost everyday.  I did not expect to enjoy these pursuits as much I am enjoying them. I joined a female only running group which has revolutionised my perceptions of running. Getting on the bike reminded me of my love of cycling when I was a teenager. Though I am currently using my son’s mountain bike, its still such a wonderful feeling to have the wind rush against my face as I speed downhill.

Of course, all this physical exercise has eaten into my otherwise sewing related time. Though I am sewing as much as I can, the ancillary stuff of taking photos and writing up posts is suffering. I guess I wanted you to know that I am still making stuff with a plan to blog once my training is less intensive.

The triathlon is on 8th June. Its only a sprint for people that have never done a triathlon before. I will have to swim 200m in open water, cycle 10km around a park and run 2.5km. I am taking it very seriously and giving it my all. I don’t care if I come in last place – I just want to finish it. So wish me luck 🙂

Thanks for stopping by,

Peace and love,

Hila
