I recently watched the Met Gala highlights and saw a section which covered E! Networks reaction to the fashion. I learnt a new phrase – “The most” in reference to fashion they considered intricate. Now I know that I am a home sewer and am by no means equating what I sew to the incredible couture garments I saw on there, however, I can relate to the feeling of “the most THE most” I have sewn. (You say it like “the most (no emphasis here) THE(emphasis here) most(draw out the o vowel sound for emphasis though not as much as the previous word).
For my May project I worked on a maxi dress that has turned out to be the most the most thing I have yet sewn! Enter Burda 8/2016 #117 – a boho style maxi with pleats galore sewing in Butterfly Chambray fabric with the contrast panels in Lady McElroy 6oz Denim Chambray. I never thought I’d make a maxi dress to vie for the top spot held by my Frida Kahlo Maxi dress but here we are!
