Updated 6/3/2020. Its that time of the month when Burda teases us with what’s to come in the next issue – the April 2020 issue, aka my birthday month issue. Since Burda 1/2020 was quite a good issue (I have already sewn up a dress), February 2020 had a good showing (traced 3 patterns) and March 2020 had 4 patterns I LOVED that jumped out at me; I have some high expectations for April.

Burda April 2020 – Favourites
I must say that despite the styling in the magazine being uneven in spots – there are some styles that jumped out at me screaming MAKE ME!!!
I am in love with the square insert sleeve on this blousey top. The fact that they used fabrics that are polar opposites in terms of drape shows you how this same design can create a different look by changing up your fabric. I am definitely planning on sewing this up – it will be perfect for summer.
Cute little tank top with a simple twist strap. This has potential for me as a summer staple. Sewn with silk jersey, this could be a constant holiday wardrobe companion.
Same pattern but different fabric or length patterns.
One thing that annoys me about Burda is that they count these following as different patterns but its really just using different fabric or adding length!
BURDA 4/2020 Notable Mentions
I thought these patterns were quite unique and would create a one of a kind garment. Though not to my personal style and taste I can appreciate the craftsmanship required to make the design. And the skill that it would take to sew it up.

This twinning set is so cute. Twinning with my kids isn’t something I ever considered until now. Separately those uber big pockets on the girls’ dress are awesome.
Big eighties-style boiler suit twinning! I am not too keen on this look personally but I can see this being quite a popular style.
Burda is celebrating glorious femininity with these styles. The faux wrap dress with the V neck is bound to be another popular design.
I was particularly taken by the square insert armholes here. The aesthetic appeals to the Hila who goes camping around Italy and France during the summer. I’d love to sew this up in gauze – this is a great summer basic for me – the kind of thing I throw on.
“Hello, Burda. The 90s called and they want their wardrobe back“. I cant be the only one getting massive Pretty Woman vibes here? don’t believe me – check this out –
I do love the elegance of the wide v neck line on the black dress. It really does remind me of Marfy 3171 that I wore to Frocktails (I must blog that dress).
I kept trying to think why the middle design looked so familiar. It is similar to a theme they used in Burda 6/2018 #105 Shorts. The same type of boucle like fabric and use of ricrac trim.
Interesting stripe play – a bit unusual for Burda.
I dont know why but this scares me a bit….
