This post is my Burda 6/2019 #129 review. I whipped up these dresses for my 6-year-old daughters. This girls shift dress pattern is a simple style perfect for active young kids.
Burda 2019 – All the styles at a glance
It features deep pockets at the front – a highly practical feature for little ones. With flat construction sleeves – this is a great kids sewing pattern that any beginner could attempt.

The June 2019 issue of Burdastyle was not a favourite of mine. In fact, the only reason I gave it a thumbs-up was because of this pattern. It is the best Burda kids (girls) pattern I have sewn!
Burda 6/2019 #129 Pattern Review
Pattern Description: Shift dress with short sleeves and two front pockets.
Pattern Sizing: Kids EUR 98 -122 (aprox 2 – 9 years old). I sewed size 116 cm and my daughters are 6 years old.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? – Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? – Yes
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? – The simplicity of the pockets that are created by a deep double fold.
Fabric Used: 100% Cotton
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None
Would you sew it again? Yes
Would you recommend it to others? – Yes!
Conclusion – My girls love their dresses! We are going to sew more variations of this dress. Linen would be a great fabric choice for summer. My friend also sewed this for her daughter in a lovely unicorns fabric. That was her second Burda sewing project and she felt very happy with the result.
