I sewed up this midi dress in Lady McElroy cotton lawn for a Minerva guest post and I love how it turned out. I used Burda 7/2015 #110 midi dress sewing pattern. The magazine styling picture didn’t pull me in as much as the line drawing did. I have used the Burda Russia link as the new US Burda site has changed.

Pattern Description: Burda 7/2015 #110
Pattern Sizing: EUR36 – 44. I sewed size 38.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? – Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? – This is a Burda magazine pattern so you need to know what you are doing.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? – The cap sleeves paired with the high neck. The tucked cummerbund is a unique addition.
Fabric Used: Lady McElroy Cotton Lawn. 100% cotton woven, non-stretch. 58″ wide.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: No changes except to add in-seam pockets.
Would you sew it again? – Yes! I’d love to sew this in a light pastel colour.
Would you recommend it to others?– Yes. But it is Burda so its great for anyone who has a good handle on sewing.
Conclusion – Love this dress! I feel very charming when I am wearing it.
Thanks for stopping by!

November 5, 2019 6:40 amThis is really pretty dress. I love your choice of fabric and print. I liked the design when it came out, but your make is much more appealing.

November 5, 2019 3:24 pmGreetings, Hila
The dress is beautiful, and so are you. Such a great job!
This dress looks like it could really flatter someone with a little middle age spread. “In spite of my efforts”
I also love the length, and the fabric. Keep up the good work, as I love looking at all your homemade outfits.
From across the pond,
Blessings, Susan

November 5, 2019 10:53 pmI love this dark floral – I also have this pattern traced from burda mag and have been meaning to make it for ages and even have a rayon put aside for it. By ages, I mean years! I love your version ;o)

November 8, 2019 11:20 amThanks Colette! I must admit that I had this on my to sew list for years too – but it was the fabric that clicked and you know when that zing happens and the pattern has to be made in that fabric.

November 8, 2019 11:21 amThanks Linda! Yes I still struggle with the instructions as well sometimes. The more basic styles I can manage but sometimes I have to pin it out and make my own way. They are worth it though for the good fit I get from them.

November 7, 2019 5:52 amHila, as always, you look absolutely fantastic! And I love the style of that dress, so I went looking for the pattern on the US site –
https://www.burdastyle.com/crepe-dress-110-07-15.html
I wish they’d made sure the new site was fully functional before they made it live…

November 8, 2019 11:24 amThanks for finding that link Julia – I was searching for it using 7/2015 and it wasnt showing up! I agree that the site as it stands now is not working for me. I am going to join the German site and rely on Google translate :-). I hope they manage to sort it out sooner rather than later.
