Today’s post is a pattern review of Grasser No. 595 Cami slip top. I sewed it up in Art Gallery Fabrics Rayon using just a little over a half meter. This makes it a great scrapbuster sewing project. BTW I have made a video on how to use Grasser sewing patterns – a beginners guide to sewing with Grasser so to speak – on my Youtube channel.

Pattern Description

Pattern Sizing
Pattern sizes – from 38 to 54. The pattern in each size is presented in four ranges of heights – 158-164, 164-170, 170-176, 176-182. When buying, carefully choose the appropriate size and height. My size for tops is 44 Height 164 -170.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes
The instructions are in Russian but they do include some pictures and you can use an online document translator for further clarity.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I like the simplicity of the style while it has darts to add some shaping at the bust. I have tried other cami top patterns however I prefer having the shaping.
Fabric Used
I used the leftover AGF rayon/viscose fabric from making a Melilot shirt. I had just a little bit over half a meter left. Grasser patterns uses on 1cm seam allowances so there is a lot of leeway. I think rayon is a suitable fabric for cami style tops as it has a beautiful drape. The lightness makes it work well as warm-weather wear. I am looking forward to wearing this in summer. I prewashed the rayon on a 30-degree wash and low tumble dried.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made – None
Would you sew Grasser No. 595 again? – Yes
Would you recommend Grasser No. 595 to others? Yes
Conclusion
I love that this is a scrapbuster fabric while being something that I will wear a lot in summer! #win! Thanks for reading this Grasser No. 595 pattern review and I hope that you enjoyed it. If you’d like to read more of my sewing experiences with Grasser sewing patterns please check these out –
