Here is a favourite raglan T-shirt sewing pattern that I have sewn 5 times already – Jalie 3669 Nico Raglan Tee. I love sewing for my husband as it is one of the few times I engage in selfless sewing. Although it is technically speaking not selfless as I enjoy seeing my creations on someone, especially him! Each time I sew this tee pattern, I make sure to prewash the darker sleeve fabric at least twice to remove any dye run. This is because a traditional raglan tee looks best when the white section maintains its crisp whiteness which can be easily ruined with the tiniest run of fabric dye. When it comes to laundry, I wash the Jalie Nico tees with lights and lets just say after one greyish result that could only be attributed to one suspect – I learned my lesson. Since I started prewashing twice I have solved that particular problem. In this post I have included 2 of the Jalie Nico tees – one is a fabulous tropical print while the other is a traditional type one.

Jalie Nico Raglan Tee Shirt Pattern Review
Pattern Description – kids and men’s raglan t-shirt with straight hem and curved hem variation. 2 sleeve lengths.
Pattern Sizing – The sizing is from toddler to adult XXXL. I sewed the size Med based on his bust measurements.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? – Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? – Yes. The instructions are quite thorough including some illustrations to help you along. Given that this pattern has 27 sizes I was worried that the size lines on the pattern sheet would be hard to distinguish however the print and paper quality on the Jalie physical pattern is to a high standard. Tracing was easy to do.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? – I love raglan sleeve T-shirts. It’s fun to play with contrasting fabrics for the sleeve.
Fabric Used: Digital print cotton panel jersey. It has that lovely springyness that you expect from high-quality jersey. It washes really well and has become a firm holiday favourite when we travel. The second one is in a plain white and sage green cotton jersey. Fabrics were prewashed at 30 degrees and tumble dried on low.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None.
Would you sew it again? Yes
Would you recommend it to others? – Yes!
Conclusion – Given that this is the 6th Nico T shirt that I have sewn up – I love this pattern and enjoy sewing it. My husband likes them too as he thinks they are super comfortable. Additionally, this pattern is excellent value for money with the 27 sizes. I have 4 lovely men in my life to sew for of varying ages and this is a pattern that works for all. I’ve used it to make raglan tees for my daughters as well. I will be sewing more with this wonderful pattern.
