He-lo everyone!
Its Fri – YAY!!!!
Weekend upon us and end of July! Eeek where does the time go? I am back with a super quick post of a dress I made in May. It was the muslin for the New Look 6145 dress I modified with a bib front here.
The dress has become a wearable muslin. Despite its swayback issues and dimpled darts I have been wearing it.
Not much to say except for I made it with the three quarter sleeves. The neck had some gaping so I put in neck darts and used bias binding to finish. Made in linen – my favourite fabric so far, bar cotton lawn. Its a neutral-ish military green colour which is the same colur as the other dress but I feel like its wholey different look. And look here I am wearing it with my Morris blazer going for a grammar school open evening :-).
Thanks so much for stopping by and Happy sewing until next time!

July 31, 2015 12:29 pmNice when a muslin ends up being wearable! I bet the neutral color goes with just about anything. Very versatile! And the fact that you get any sewing time, let alone time to photograph and write about it is astounding… You’re a very busy lady!!

August 1, 2015 5:22 amOoh I love this dress shape, it reminds me of McCalls 2401 which is one of my favourites. You are so productive, both in making and sewing!

August 14, 2015 12:10 pmIt looks really comfortable, and great with a Morris Blazer. I think I’m yet to make a wearable muslin but that’s probably because I only ever really use calico. And unblogged makes, I counted the other day and have 24 makes I’ve not blogged, but then I have only just really started blogging. I’m sure some of them might never be blogged…
