Today’s post is an Ottobre Design Woman 5/2018 Rosy Dreams dress sewing pattern review. When I saw this issue of Ottobre Design Woman I liked just every single style. Ottobre Design does some great capsule-type magazines such that one issue can help you create a complete wearable wardrobe. It is practical. Ottobre also does their kids’ sewing patterns magazines that I am a huge fan of. I sew a lot for my kids using their magazines. This dress is a Minerva Brand Ambassador make that I sewed up this fall and have been loving wearing as the weather has gotten colder. This is my second time making this dress. I first made it last year in a fur back fleece and I found that I reached for it a lot. It is easy to wear and made me feel put together with little effort whilst keeping me warm. The most recent version is made from a flocked Ikat ponte knit fabric.

Ottobre Design Women 5/2018 Rosy Dreams Dress Review
Pattern Description
Sweater dress with raglan sleeve featuring pleats. Cuffs, neckline and hem finished with ribbing.
Pattern Sizing
Sizes 34–52. I sewed size 38. The fit is as expected.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
Yes. Ottobre Design instructions are good. Note that the patterns do not have seam allowances – you need to add these yourself.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
The slight gentle shaping that the blouson sleeve gives. I also like the pockets.
Fabric Used
A double ponte with a velvet textured ikat bonded print. It creates a lovely interesting finish.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made –
I made the neckband deeper instead of the marrow you see in the magazine. I also changed the pocket pattern piece to my template as I felt the magazine pocket was too small for me.
Would you sew it again?
Yes. I have and I will!
Would you recommend it to others? Yes!
Conclusion
Thanks for reading my Ottobre Design Woman 5/2018 Rosy Dreams dress review. I love this look as it adds an easy chic outfit in my fall wardrobe. I look forward to sewing more Ottobre Design Woman patterns.
