KnipMode 2020 Sewing Goal
I will be reporting back on my Knipmode sewing adventures. My plan is to sew six KnipMode items by the end of 2020.
This should be quite interesting given that Knipmode have changed the drafting on their patterns. This means that I have to make at least a couple of toile garments to re-acquaint myself with what the ease is on the patterns now.

I love sewing with sewing fashion magazines like Knipmode and Burda. In part, because of the great value for money, I get, but also that I can store the patterns easier than envelope patterns.

What is the Knipmode style?
Knipmode is published in Holland so that gives us a clue to the fashion sensibilities that drive it. Here is a street style blogger who captures the essence of Dutch style.
The Knipmode style is predominately about comfortable styles. Pragmatic and comfortable. The emphasis is on separates – most Knipmodes will have more separates than dresses. This is also shown in the styling pictures where you see the pieces being interchanged.

Knipmode Featured Pattern – 6 Fabric Options
Knipmode will also select a pattern that will be sewn up in more than 6 different fabrics. This gives you a very good idea of what the pattern would look like when you sew with a thicker or drapier fabric, print or solid. I appreciate this feature in Knipmode magazine more than any other.
KnipMode Size Range
Within the sewing magazine community, Knipmode is greatly respected for offering all their sewing patterns in the full-size range EUR36 – 58. All other sewing magazines will have different sizes for different styles. This can be frustrating as sometimes you may bond with a pattern only to find you are outside the size range.
